- Polli Culver Review added: 2018.07.10★ ★ ★ ★ ★Beautiful country house in a fabulous setting with amazing views of the mountains and the lake. Quiet and secluded, but within easy reach of a couple of small towns and only a few minutes drive to Windermere and Ambleside. The staff are impeccable, friendly and attentive but never intrusive, and their attention to detail is perfect. The food is wonderful, rooms are well maintained and comfortable, and a good size.
- Robert Cooper Review added: 2018.05.09★ ★ ★ ★ ★We spent Christmas 2016 here and it was fabulous. The hotel is small (20-ish rooms) and in such a beautiful spot high above Windermere. It's a beautiful Georgian house with open fires and wood panelling everywhere. The staff are excellent and the food is top class. It's dog friendly too, if you can't bear to leave your companion at home.
